Team Sprocket ProCycling

Team Sprocket ProCycling are lucky enough to benefit from the back up of Powertap from Saris and Paligap.

Training with power is essential in modern day cycling. Without any means of power measurement you cannot train to the limit that is required.

Our coach Steve Benton monitors the training of our riders on a daily basis. Without powertap Steve would not be able to achieve this. Each rider sends their training files to 'Boris' (As he is affectionately known as), he can then adjust and tweak their training for the next day based on their figures.

This way the riders cannot become overtrained.

Rider Focus

We wanted to give you an insight in to what the boys are up to during their training. First off we have taken Freddy Johansson. He has been working with our coach Steve for quite some time now. In this piece I will just show you roughly what a program can look like.

Saturday: 5hour ride. Predominantly 260w-360w (Z2) @ 85+rpm but include 10 x 20revs (approx 10sec) jump sprints.

Alternate gearing (39x15 on odd numbers, 53x15 on evens).

Sunday:  3hrs. Zone 3 Tempo predominantly throughout (360-420w). Lifting to a max FT effort for 20mins somewhere in the middle of the ride.
